This charming story about empathy and kindness warms my heart every time. Recommended by Molly

It has to be said that the art in this book is moving, beautiful, emotional, and alive. Evan Turk uses vibrant colors to tell the story of one whale from the beginning of life, through the decades. It's a story about love, loss, personal connection, but mostly it's a story about hope. Your children will find Heartbeat pretty and they will love the baby whale. But a promise to you is that it will break your heart and warm it all at once. Recommended by Rob

(Sales are final on this one.)
My husband said the reason I was a popular teacher of kids who had trouble reading was beause I never outgrew booger or fart jokes. No wonder I love this book (and so will most children.) Recommended by Jeanette

I've ever been a big fan of alphabet books. But this one is the exception. An enchanting, quirky book of little known animal "facts." Turn to a random page and enjoy. Recommended by Emily

A lovely, uplifting (no pun intended) story of a pig who wants to fly. After admiring how birds glide through the air, this pig decides hes going to migrate with them -- even if he has to build his own wings. A wonderful tale of ingenuity & the power of determination. Recommended by Emily
Beautiful art and a heart-warming message about inspiration and creativity. Plus, how adorable is that little idea-egg?! Recommended by Molly

De La Pena has done it again: written a picture book which recognizes the emotional depth of children. A beautifully illustrated, lyrical homage to the breadth of love. Recommended by Jeanette

Beautiful story. Beautiful Book. Full of heart and gentle wisdom. (Another one for tree-lovers. Take a look at all the paper cut-outs -- these add layers of beauty and meaning.) Recommended by Alena
