Meet author and firefighter Zac Unger Friday February 8th, 6:30 pm at Gallery Bookshop. Unger will talk about his new book Never Look a Polar Bear in the Eye: A Family Field Trip to the Arctic's Edge. His previous book, Working Fire: The Making of a Fireman received a Starred Review from Kirkus Reviews, and was listed on the ALA Best Books for Young Adults.
Unger, a writer as well as a firefighter and paramedic with the Oakland Fire Department, has written for Slate, The Economist, Men's Journal, and other publications. He is a graduate of Deep Springs College, Brown University, and UC Berkeley.
