Well-known artist David Gregory and author John Bear, both of whom lived for years in Mendocino, have collaborated on a 2011 edition of their long-out-of-print 1986 book, the first and still the only book devoted entirely to images and words on Mendocino.
About the Author
John Bear and David Gregory came independently to Mendocino in the mid-1970s. David lived here for six years, John for eleven, with regular return visits ever since. John has written 30 books for major publishers and has appeared on "Today", "Good Morning America", "60 Minutes", "Late Night with David Letterman", and "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross.
David studied painting, printmaking, and architecture at the University of Illinois. He has created more than 3,000 paintings and etchings. His works are in hundred of private collections, and can be found online at www.davidgregoryart.com.
